MOON MOON SEN

Moon Moon Sen was born on 28 March 1948 to actress Suchitra Sen and Dibanath Sen in Kolkata.During childhood days she learnt  drawing from one of India's highest artiste 'Jamini Roy'.She graduated from Somerville College, Oxford and took her Masters Degree in Comparative Literature from Jadavpur University, Kolkata.
She has acted in 60 films and 40 TV soaps and Serials.She could act in different languages like 'Bengali,Hindi,Tamil,Telugu,Malayalam,Kannada and Marathi.She was able to act along with the top heroes of these regional languages.
Her debut film in Hindi was 'Andar Bahar' in 1984 and her daring role in that film created a controversy.
She acted as heroine of several well noted Bengali films opposite the popular heroes of that language but was not as much effective in Bollywood.But still she could establish an impressive position in Hindi films also.
One of her well appreciated  role was in the Telugu Film 'Sirivennela' in 1987 for which she received Andhra Pradesh Government's Nandi Award for Best Supporting Actress.
Her Malayalam films are 'Aval Kathirunnu, Avanum' (86) directed by P.G.Viswambharan in which Mammootty was the hero and another film 'Gentleman Security' directed by J.Williams.
In Telugu she acted in 'Majnu(87), a tragic love tale directed by Dasari Narayana Rao.Nagarjuna and Rajani were the lead pair.
'Sirivennela' directed by K.Viswanath is considered as one of her best performances in her acting career.
In Kannada she acted in 'Yuga Purusha' (89) which was directed by Rajendra Babu and in Tamil she acted in 12B in the year 2001 which was directed by Jeeva.
She married 'Bharat Dev Varma' in 1978 and has two daughters 'Raima Sen and Riya Sen' both of them models and actresses.
Moon Moon Sen is active in politics and is a candidate of the 2014 Lok Sabha Election.

SMRITI BISWAS

The erstwhile actress Smriti Biswas  acted as heroine and in supporting roles of several Hindi and Bengali films for two decades from early 40's to early 60's.She is an accomplished dancer also.
She has acted opposite







popular heroes like Dev Anand,,Raj Kapoor,Master Bhagwan,Pradeep Kumar,Abhi Bhattacharya,Kishore Kumar,Chabbi Biswas,Balraj Sahni,Prem Nath  etc.She has acted along with actresses like Begum Para,Nirupa Roy,Shyama,Geeta Bali,Shashikala,Nargis etc.
In 1943 she acted opposite Chabbi Biswas in the film 'Dwanda' directed by Hemen Gupta.
She was the heroine opposite Dev Anand in the film Humsafar(53) directed by A.N.Banerjee.
P.Jai Raj and Smriti Biswas were the lead pair of 1947 film 'Lakhon Mein Ek'.
In the 1950 film 'Pehla Admi' directed by Bimal Roy, Smriti  was the heroine.
She fell in  in love with Producer/Director S.D.Narang who made her heroine in a string of films like 'Ek Aurat,Nai Bhabhi,Aparajita,Arab Ka Saudagar,Yahudi Ki Ladki,Yeh Hai Zindagi'.She had a cameo role in S.D.Narang's film 'Dilli Ka Thug'.
In the film 'Chandni Chowk' directed by B.R.Chopra, Shekhar and Meena Kumari acted as the main pair and Smriti acted as the character 'Noorie'.
Pradeep Kumar was the hero of the 1956 film Arab Ka saudagar.
Shashikala and Smriti Biswas were the two heroines of 'Bhagam Bhag'(56) which was directed by Master Bhagwan.Kishore Kumar and Master Bhagwan played the two heroes of this film.Balraj Sahni and Smriti Biswas were the lead pair of 1956 film 'Taksaal' directed by Hemen Gupta.
"Jagte Raho' was a film directed by Raj Kapoor.
She acted along with Sandhya in the film 'Teen Batti Char Raasta' which was directed by V.Shantaram.
'Sailaab' was a film produced by Geeta Dutt's brother Mukul Roy and was directed by Guru Dutt.Geeta Bali,Abhi Bhattacharya,Smriti Biswas,Helen etc acted in it.The film was not a commercial success.
In the film 'Dilli Ka Thug' directed by S.D.Narang, Kishore Kumar and Nutan acted as the main pair and Smriti acted in a cameo role.
Smriti Biswas

 had to quit acting career after her marriage with director/producer S.D.Narang.She is having two sons.Her husband passed away in 1986.

BELA BOSE

Bela Bose was a popular Bollywood actress during 60's,70's and early 80's who appeared in protagonist roles and  supporting roles.She is  a gifted dancer and in many films she appeared as a dancer also.
She entered the acting field after the death of her father to support the family.She got polished her acting skill by participating in Bengali plays.She was noted for her role opposite Guru Dutt in the film 'Sautela Bhai' in 1962.It was directed by Mahesh Kaul.
In 62 itself F.C.Mehra's Professor was another super hit film in which Bela Bose played an important role.Shammi Kapoor and Kalpana were the main pair of the film.Shammi kapoor was disguised as Professor Preetam Khanna in this film.
In the fiction  film 'Hawa Mahal' Bela Bose and Helen acted as sisters 'Neelampari' and 'Champakali' who lived in 'Paatal Lok'.Jeevan acted as male lead and it was directed by B.J.Patel.
She acted in supporting role of the famous film 'Bandini' directed by Bimal Roy.Ashok Kumar,Nutan and Dharmendra were the main actors.
In the film 'Khoon Khazana'(64) she was the heroine opposite Master Bhagwan.
In the film 'Cha Cha Cha' which was written and directed by Chandrasekhar who was the hero also, Bela Bose acted as the character 'Kalpana'.
In the 1964 film 'Roop Sundari' she was the heroine opposite Mahipal.
She depicted 'Devi Maha Maya' in the super hit film 'Chitralekha'(64) in which Ashok Kumar,Pradeep Kumar,Meena Kumari also acted.It was directed by Kidar Nath Sharma.
She acted as dancer in films like 'Sunheri Nagin,Aaya Toofan,Shree Ram Bharat Milap,Lootera,Daku Mangal Singh, and many more.
She was acclaimed for her role in the film 'Amrapali'(66) in which Vyjayanthimala and Sunil Dutt were the main pair.
She got accolades for 'Dil Aur Mohabbat' in which she played the character "Kishori'.Ashok Kumar,Joy Mukherjee,Sharmila Tagore were in the cast.
Feroz Khan and Bela Bose were the main pair of super hit film 'Main Wo Hi Hoon'.
She was noted for her role in the film 'Shikar'(68) in which Dharmendra,Sanjeev Kumar and Asha Parekh acted along with her.
She got critical acclaim for her role in the film 'Aasra' in which Mala Sinha and Biswajeet were the main pair.
She was heroine of  many B grade movies also.








Bela Bose left film field in the early 80's.

AMEETA

Ameeta is a beatiful yesteryear actress of Bollywood who acted in several super hit films of late 50's and 60's opposite eminent heroes like Dev Anand,
Rajendra Kumar,Manoj Kumar etc and also acted as female lead of many popular B grade films also opposite actors like Dara Singh,Johnny Walker etc.
She is still remembered for her excellent performance in films like 'Tumsa Nahin Dekha,Munimji,Goonj Uthi Shehnai,Mere Mehboob etc.

Ameeta was born in 1932 and came to Bombay after her studies to try her luck in films.She acted in a small role in the film 'Anmol Sahara' in 1952 and films like Chaitanya Mahaprabhu (55), Ab-E-Haiyat(56) etc  followed later.
In 1955 she acted opposite Dev Anand in the super hit film 'Munimji'
Her acting career took a turning point with the film 'Tumsa Nahin Dekha' in 1957.It was directed by Nassir Hussain.
It was produced by Filmstan Studio and the Producer wanted to boost Ameeta's acting career with that film and took much care for her make-up,wardrobes, etc and  her scenes were also visualized sensibly to make her look pretty always.Enough publicity was also given.But the result was such that even though the film was a big box office hit, Ameeta did not achieve the star position.The film made the hero Shammi Kapoor an overnight sensation.
Ameeta appeared opposite Rajendra Kumar  in another box Office hit film 'Goonj Uthi Shehnai' in 59  which was directed by Vijay Bhatt.It was one of the top grossing film of that year.
She acted opposite Bharat Bhushan in 'Sawan' in the year 59.
In 1961 'Teen Ustad' was another hit film of Ameeta in which Suresh was the hero.The film was directed by Nanabhai Bhatt.
When comedian Mehboob produced 'Chhote Nawab' he cast Ameeta as the heroine of the film  and the film  was a big success.
Manoj Kumar was her hero in the super hit film 'Piya Milan Ki Aas' in 61 and 'Ma Beta' in 62.


She acted in a multi starer film 'Rakhi' in 62.Ashok Kumar,Waheeda Rehman,Pradeep Kumar etc acted in that film.
In 1963 Ameeta played one of the two heroines of 'Mere Mehboob' along with Sadhana.Her role as Naseem Ara opposite Rajendra Kumar was well acclaimed.
In 1967 she acted in a big banner film along with Raj Kapoor and  Rajshree
titled 'Around the World' which was directed by Paachi.
She appeared as female lead of several B grade films and small banner films also.
Her last appearance was in 1971 in the film 'Kabhi Dhoop Kabhi Chhaon'
Ameeta got married and stayed away from the movie world.
Her daughter Sabeeha acted as heroine in a few films like 'Khiladi' 'Quayamat Ki Raat' etc and also disappeared from the scenario.

MALLIKA SARABHAI

Mallika Sarabhai is a well renowned Kuchipudi and Bharatanatyam Dancer,Activist, Politician,Actress, Writer,Book Publisher etc.
Her mother Mrinalini Sarabhai is famous Classical Dancer who has trained more than 10000 students in  different types of classical dances.Her father was world famous Scientist and Physicist Vikram Sarabhai who is considered as the father of Indian Space program.
Mallika Sarabhai was born on May 9, 1954 in Ahmedabad,Gujarat State.She completed her MBA from IIM Ahmedabad in 1974 and got doctorate from Gujarat University in 1976.
Mallika Sarabhai who got trained in classical dances from childhood  became an exponent of Bharatanatyam and Kuchipudi and she was also interested in acting.She started acting in parallel cinema from the age of 15.
She is interested in theatre and has performed in several reputed plays also.
She along with her mother manages the 'Darpana  Academy of Performing Arts' located at Ahmedabad.She is a social activist and participated in many socio  developmental projects initiated by the United Nations.
She has acted in more than 30 films in different languages only because of her flair in acting.She was the only Indian actor in the cast of 'The Mahabharata' which was directed by renowned director Peter Brook.She depicted the character 'Draupadi' in that movie.It was launched in English and French.
In 1974 she acted in the film 'Muthi Bhar Chawal' in which Mallika and Rakesh Pandey were the main pair.She received Film Critics Award for Best Actress for this film.
In 1975 she acted in ' Mena Gurjari', a Gujarati film which narrated the story of a Gujarati  girl by name 'Mena' which was directed by Dinesh Rawal.Snehalata and Upendra Trivedi acted along with her.She got Best actress award for that film.
Mallika Sarabhai was the heroine of famous Bollywood film 'Himalay Se Ooncha' in 1975 in which Sunil Dutt was the hero.Rakesh Pandey and Ranjeet were also in the cast.It was directed by B.S.Thapa.
In 1979 she acted in Hindu Mythology film Shankar Parvaty in which she depicted Devi Maa Sati,Devi Maa Parvati,Shiv Shakti,Jagadamba, and Mahakali.
'Peethi Pili Ne Rang Rato' was a Gujarati film starring Kiran Kumar and Mallika in 1982.
In 1983 she acted in the Hindi feature film 'Katha' directed by Sai Paranjye.
This film won National Award as Best feature film in Hindi.Farooq Shah,Deepti Nawal,Naseeruddin Shah etc also acted in it.

'Amma' was a noted film  which she acted in 1986 along with Mithun



Chakraborty,Vijay Arora,Rakhee,Ashok Kumar etc.
Mallika Sarabhai acted along with Mithun Chakraborty,Moon Moon Sen,Vijayendra Ghatge etc in the film 'Sheesha' which was directed by Basu Chatterjee and received Best Supporting actress award for her excellent portrayal of her character.

In 2001 she acted in 'Danny', a Malayalam film directed by T.V.Chandran in which Mammootty,Vani Viswanath,Vijaya Raghavan etc acted along with Mallika Sarabhai.This film received National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Malayalam.
In 2005 she acted in a Gujarati film 'Hashidhi Mata'  starring Kiran Kumar.
In 2008 she acted in the film 'Love Songs:Yesterday,Today and Tomorrow' which was directed by Jayabrato Chatterjee.This film received much critical acclaim.Other noted  films are 'Sonal,Maniyaro, and Kehkashaa.'
She received Sangeet Natak Academy Award for Creative Dance in 2000.
She received 'French Palma D'or' highest Civilian Award of France.
She is also recipient of 'Padma Bhushan' Award from Government of India.

PREMA NARAYAN

Prema Narayan is Miss India first runner up in 1971 and represented India in the Miss World Contest of 1971.
She was born on April 4, 1955 in Andhra Pradesh.
She was an English Teacher in a convent School and did part-time modelling.
Prema Narayan acted in many films as heroine,character actress and as dancer also.
In the year 1974 her performance in the film 'Maa Bahen Aur Biwi' was well noted and received appreciation from the audience.Kabir Bedi was the  hero of  this film.
She got accolades for her performance in 'Amanush' which was produced and directed by Shakti Samanta in 1975.Uttam Kumar and Sharmila Tagore were the main pair of this film and Prema Narayan was nominated by Filmfare for Best Supporting actress award for her excellent performance.This film was produced in Hindi and Bengali.
In 1976 her portrayal of the character 'Radhiya' in the film 'Balika Badhu' got wide appreciation.
She was well noted as the friend of Aarti(Rekha) in 'Ghar'(1978) directed by Manik Chatterjee.
She acted opposite Vikram in 'Jab Andhera Hota Hai'.
She had a bold character along with Gulshan Arora and Kabir Bedi in the film 
'Manzi








lein Aur Bhi Hain' which was not released in cinemas but had a VHS release.It was produced by Mahesh Bhatt and was directed by Johnny Bakshi.

She acted in horror films like Hotel,Mangal Sutra, Saat Saal Baad etc.
She also appeared in dance roles of several films like 'Khoj', 'Desh Ke Dushman', 'Qayamat' etc.
