BINDU

Bindu is a supporting actress of Bollywood who received accolades for several roles  from more than the 160 films she acted  from the 60's.
She was born to parents film maker Nanubhai and stage actress Jyotsna in Valsad, Gujarat  on 17 April 1951.
Her father being a film producer, her entry to film field was quite easy and happened in 1962 itself, at the age of 11 with the film 'Anpath' in which she played the daughter role of 'Mala Sinha'.The mother role of Mala Sinha was as an illiterate woman in this picture.
Afterwards  Bindu  acted in well noted roles of many films out of which many of them were super hit films.
She received good opinion for her role as 'Shabnam' in the film 'Kati Patang' which was directed by Shakti Samanta in 1970.Rajesh Khanna and Asha Parekh were the main actors of this film and Bindu performed a Cabaret dance in this film.
Bindu was having important roles in 1971 film 'Lagan' and 'Chori Chori'
She received accolades  for several films like 'Abhiman,Anhonee,Aankhen,Dastaan,Hawas,Do Raaste' etc.
In the film 'Abhiman' Amitabh Bachchan and Jayabhaduri were in the main lead.She played the character as 'Chitra'
In the Sanjeev Kumar and Leena Chandavarkar film 'Anhonee' she received good opinion for her character 'Rita'.
Her character in the film 'Aankhen' got appreciation from the audience  and same like  that,  her character  'Neela Alopee Prasad' of 'Do



 
 Raaste' also earned good response.
'Dastaan' was Sharmila Tagore-Dilip  Kumar film in which Dilip Kumar played double role as a Judge and 'Don'. Bindu acted as the Judge's wife 'Mala' who has also an affair with another person, Rajan(Prem Chopra).The film was directed by B.R.Chopra in 1972.

In the film 'Arjun Pandit' she acted along with Sanjeev Kumar,Ashok Kumar,Vinod Mehra,Devan Verma,Sachin etc and the film was directed by Hrishikesh Mukherjee.
'Imtihan' was Vinod Khanna-Tanuja film which was directed by Madan Sinha.
In the film 'Zanjeer' she played villain's role and in several films she donned cruel mother-in-law or cynical aunt.

KAJAL KIRAN

Kajal Kiran is former Bollywood actress who has appeared as heroine in several films including Malayalam and Kannada also.She was born as Sunita Kulkarni in a Marathi family.

She was shot to fame by the first film itself which was directed by Nasir Hussain  and became the biggest blockbuster hit of 1977.It was 'Hum Kisise Kum Naheen' in which Kajal Kiran acted opposite Rishi Kapoor.Kajal Kiran was very beautiful and attractive at that period and the audience liked her acting style and dancing skill, but she could not achieve the heights she deserved in her career. 
Kajal played the main female roles opposite actors like Raj Babbar,Navin Nischal,Mithun Chakraborty etc but was not cast opposite Rishi Kapoor again.
Raj Babbar was the hero of 1980 film Sajan Mere Main Saajan ki, which was directed by Hiren Nag.
Sujit Kumar was the hero of Bhula Na Dena of 1981.
Mithun Chakraborty acted opposite Kajal Kiran in the 1981 hit film 'Wardaat' which was directed by Ravikant Nagaich.Farmers and farmlands are being attacked resulting in heavy damages and the investigation of the case is  the theme of the movie.
In 1982  in another successful hit film 'Humse Badkar Kaun' Kajal Kiran was the heroine and Mithun Chakraborty was male lead actor.
Navin Nischal acted opposite her in the 1982 film 'Doosre Roop'.
In 1982 she was the heroine of a Kannada hit film in which Vishnu Vardhan was the hero.It was 'Sahasa Simha' directed by Joe Simon.
In 1984 she was the heroine of Mohan Lal in the Malayalam thriller  film 'Uyarangalil' which was directed by I.V.Sasi.Ratheesh,Rahman,Swapna,Nedumudi Venu,Jagathy Sreekumar etc acted in it.
In 1984 she acted in another Malayalam film 'Chakkarayumma'  opposite Mammootty which was directed by Sajan.
Kajal Kiran acted in some horror films like 'Saboot,Dahshat,Haveli,Saya etc.
In some films she appeared as dancer also.
She acted in a T.V.Movie 'Darti Aakash.She played supporting roles in many films.

BINDIYA GOSWAMI

Bindiya Goswami is  former Bollywood actress who was active from 1970's to late 80's and acted in important roles of several multi starer blockbuster movies and also acted as heroine in some movies of actors like Vindod Mehra,Rakesh Roshan,Midhun Chakraborty etc.She became a heroine actress at an young age of 15 and she was so beautiful in those period during which it was said that she had resemblance of Hemamalini. 
She was born on August 8, 1961 at Mumbai and entered in to films  in 1976 as the heroine of 'Jeevan Jyoti'  opposite Vijay Arora.The film which was directed by Murugan Kumaran was not a success but Bindiya went ahead with  celebrated   successful   films like Basu Chatterjee's 'Khatta Meetha' of 1977.
She acted in Dharmendra-Hema Malini film 'Chala Murari Hero Banane' directed by Asrani in 1977.
She was the heroine of film 'Aankhe ke Tara' in 1977 in which Sachin was the hero.
In many films Vinod Mehra and Bindiya Goswami acted as the leading pair.They paired  together in    films like 'Mujhe Shakti Do' ,Laalach, Dada,Khoon Kharaba' etc.
Midhun Chakraborty was the hero of Basu Chatterjee's 'Prem Vivah' in 1979 which catapulted her career.
She was part of Successful popular films like 'Gol Maal,Khandaan,Bandish,Khuddaar,Shaan, Jaani Dushman,Chor Police'  etc.
Amitabh Bachchan,Rekha,Amol Palekhar,Utpal Dutt,Shobha Khote,Omprakash etc acted in 'Gol Maal' directed by Hrishikesh Mukherjee.
Amitabh Bachchan,Sanjeev Kumar,Tanuja,Parveen Babi,Bindiya Goswami were the main cast of 'Khuddaar' of 1982.
In the film 'Chor Police' directed by Amjad Khan in 1983 Amjad Khan,Ashok Kumar,Shakti Kapoor,Shatrughan Sinha,Parveen Babi,Zarina Wahab and Bindiya Goswami acted.
Raj Babbar and Vinod Mehra acted in the 1983 film 'Mehndi'.
In the 1980 film 'Khoon Kharaba' Vinod Mehra and Bindiya Goswami were the leading pair and Midhun Chakraborty was the hero of 1982 film 'Heeron Ka chor' which dealt with the theme of a big diamond robbery.
'Gol Maal' was the biggest hit in her career.
Shashi Kapoor acted opposite her in the multi starer 'Shaan' (1980).
Amitabh Bachchan and Rakhee were the main pair of this film.
She married 'Vinod Mehra' who was the  co- star in many of her films but the relationship failed and she married director J.P.Dutta.She quit films after her marriage with J.P.Dutta.
She is costume designer for films at present.

SHASHIKALA, SULOCHANA LATKAR AND PEACE KANWAL

SHASHIKALA

Shashikala is renowned Bollywood actress in supporting roles from the  50's.
She was born in Sholapur,Maharashtra and the family later shifted to Mumbai.
She started her film career by acting in small insignificant roles and was well appreciated  for  Bimal Roy's  hit film 'Sujata' of 1959 in which she had a major role.In 1962 she got accolades for her role in 'Arati' in which Meena Kumari,Ashok Kumar and Pradeep Kumar were the main stars.For her performance in this film she received Filmfare Best Supporting Actress Award.
Shashikala was selected again in 1963 by Filmfare for Best Supporting Actress Award for her nice performance in the film 'Gumrah'.Sunil Dutt,Ashok Kumar,and Mala Sinha were the main actors of 'Gumrah' which was directed by B.R.Chopra.

Kamini Koushal- Dilip Kumar starer 'Arzoo',Shammi Kapoor-Saira Banu starer 'Junglee(1961),Rajendra Kumar-Saira Banu starer 'Aye Milan Ki Bela'(1964),Yash Chopra's 'Waqt'(65),Hrishikesh Mukherjee's 'Anupama(66),O.P.Ralhan's 'Phool Aur Pathar' etc were all hit  films for which she got accolades.
In 2001 she got appreciation for her performance in the film 'Kabi Khushi Kabhie Gham'.

SULOCHANA LATKAR


Sulochana Latkar mostly known as Sulochana is well known Marathi and Hindi actress in supporting roles.She was born on 30 July 1928.She is acting mainly in Marathi films and has acted in more than 250 films in that language.
In Hindi cinema she performed mostly mother roles and films like 'Dil Dekhe Dekho(59),Bandini(63),Devar(66),Sunghursh(68),Aadmi(68),Kati Patang(70)Kala Dhanda Goray Log(86) etc are some of her acclaimed  films.

PEACE KANWAL




She was born in Amritsar and was first year Medical Student at Ludhiana Medical College when she got offer to act in a film.She contested a talent test conducted by 'Kolynos' and was the winner and thus paved way to film entry.Kardar's Dil-E-Nadan was her first film in which Talat Mehmood was in the male lead role.Next film was 'Barati' which was directed by J.K.Nanda in which 'Agha' was the hero.
She later accepted supporting roles and acted in films like 'Barsat Ki Raat,Arati,Chambal Ki Kasam' etc.

FARIDA JALAL

Farida Jalal is a Bollywood actress who plays mostly character roles.She used to appear as younger sister of either the hero or heroine,neighbour or close friend of the heroine character,daughter, sister in law etc  initially when she was young and later used to appear roles as elder sister,mother,mother in law,widow,grandmother  etc.
Farida Jalal was born on March 14, 1949 in New Delhi.She entered film industry when she won the United Film Productions Talent  test sponsored by Filmfare.Her debut film was as a child artist 'Baby Farida' in Guru Dutt starrer  'Chaudin Ka Chand' which was directed by Mohammad Sadiq in  1960.
Her role as the character 'Renu' in the film 'Aradhana' gave her much accolades and the song scene of her in that film was very much appreciated by the audience.
Farida Jalal had only   the break of a few years in her  long acting career and was fully active till today and had the opportunity to have a role in many of the blockbuster hit films in Bollywood.
She got Filmfare award as Best supporting actress for film 'Paras' in 1971
In 1992 she received Filmfare Best Supporting actress award for film 'Henna'.
In 1995 She was selected for Filmfare Critics Award for Best performance in the film 'Mammo'.
In 1998 she received Filmfare Best Supporting Actress Award for film 'Dilwale Duniya Le Jayenge'.
Farida Jalal played the lead role of 'Mammo'  directed by Shyam Benegal in 1994 which won National Award as Best Feature film in Hindi of that year.
Farida Jalal got Filmfare critics award  for her best performance.
In the film 'Paras' directed by C.P.Dixit in 1971 Sanjeev Kumar,Rakhee,Mehmood and Farida played key roles.
In the film 'Dilwale Duniya Le Jayenge' she acted as heroine Kajol's mother.The film was directed by Aditya Chopra.
Several of her roles received wide acclaim as the role of a mentally challenged girl in the film 'Bobby' and the role as 'Lily Aunty' in the film 'Kaho Naa Pyar Hai'.She received accolades for films 'Raja Hindustani,Kuch Kuch Hota Hai,Dil To Pagal Hai' and many more.

SHAKILA

Shakila is an yesteryear lovely, beautiful actress who possessed immense abilities in acting as well as dancing.She lived in Mumbai with her Aunt.She has two sisters Noor and Nasreen and one of them Noor Jehan married Bollywood actor Johnny Walker.Shakila after 1965 married an Indian  person who is settled in the United Kingdom and moved over to there with him.
Shakila acted opposite all  top heroes of that period like 'Chandrasekhar,Guru Dutt,Raj Kapoor,Dev Anand,Pradeep Kumar,Manoj Kumar,Shammi Kapoor,Sunil Dutt,Johnny Walker' etc.
Her entry in to film field was as a child artist in the film  Duniya in 1949 and Dastan(50).
Afterwards she appeared in small roles of several films like 'Shahenshah,Raj Mahal,Armaan' and many more.
Her debut film as an adult artist and which received wide acclaim was of the Cabaret dancer character  in Guru Dutt's 'Aar Paar'.The song picturized on her 'Babuji Dheere Chalna' is still liked and very popular among music lovers.Aar Paar was a super hit film.
Shakila got another luminous role which is well remembered always is  in Guru Dutt's film 'C.I.D'(56)  but slightly overshadowed with the presence of Wahida Rehman and it was Wahida's    debut film.C.I.D was produced by Guru Dutt and was directed by Raj Khosla.
Due to the special acting skills she possessed,  she was made heroine of several mythological and fantasy films like 'Alibaba and 40 thieves,Lal Pari,Rajputani,Roop Kumari, Jhansi Ki Rani,Naag Padmini,' and many more.
 In 1954, film Khushboo was directed by Rana Indu Shamsher in which Shakila,Shyama and Motilal were the main actors.
In the 1954 film Lal Pari directed by Kidar Kapoor, Mahipal acted opposite Shakila.Again in 1955 in the film 'Mast Qalandar' Mahipal was the hero and director was Kedar Kapoor.In the film 'Caravan' Dev Anand,Shakila and Wahida  Rehman acted.
in 1958 Sunil Dutt was her hero in the suspense thriller film Post Box 999.
Shakila was the heroine of 1962 film 'China Town' directed by Shakti Samanta.
Shammi Kapoor acted in double role in this film which was a super hit box office success.This film was remade in Tamil as 'Kudiyiruntha Kovil' starring MGR and in Telugu as 'Bhale Thammudu' starring NTR.
Raj Kapoor acted opposite Shakila in the film 'Shriman Satyawadi' which was directed by S.M.Abbas.
A bank robbery and its consequences was the theme of the film 'Ustadon Ke Ustad' in which Pradeep Kumar acted opposite Shakila.
Manoj Kumar was her pair in the 1962 film 'Naqli Nawab' for which she received much accolades and her film 'Tower House' of the same year directed by N.A.Ansari received nice opinion from the viewers.Both films were super hit.
Her last film 'Rishte Naate' was released in 1965 and she quit acting career and moved to The United Kingdom with her husband and settled there.

LEENA CHANDAVARKAR

Leena Chandavarkar is a former Bollywood actress who acted as heroine in several movies of 1969-79 period opposite all top heroes and fascinated millions of hearts with her elegance and acting dexterity.
Leena Chandavarkar was born on 29 August 1950 in the Dharwar/Karwar region of Karnataka state in a Marathi speaking family.Her father was an Army Officer.
She won a talent competition held by Filmfare and thus appeared as a model for advertisements.Sunil Dutt spotted her and invited to act in his film 'Man Ka Meet' in 1968 opposite his brother Som Dutt.Actress Nargis groomed her by giving her lessons in Hindi,Driving and dancing etc.
Later she became a top heroine and acted opposite Jeetendra,Dharmendra,Rajesh Khanna,Sanjeev Kumar,Dilip Kumar,Sanjay Khan,Sunil Dutt,Satrughan Sinha etc.She did not prefer to act too glamorous  despite competition from others  but earned  the love and admiration of the audience with her natural  beauty and  superb acting skill.
Her performance in the film Mehboob ki Mehndi of 1971  opposite Rajesh








Khanna was excellent.Like that her performance in the film 'Bairaag' opposite Dilip Kumar also earned much accolades.
In the year 1970 Leena acted opposite Jeetendra in the hit film 'Hunjoli' which was directed by Ramanna.It was the remake of the Tamil film 'Panakkara Kudumbam'.
In 1971 her film Rakhwala was a musical entertainer in which Dharmendra was the hero.
One of the well noted comedy character of Sanjeev Kumar was in Leena's film 'Manchali' which was released in 1973.
The suspense thriller 'Chor Chor' of 1974 was not a box office hit, but Leena was beautiful,romantic and lovely in that film in which Producer/Director Vijay Anand was the hero.
Jeetendra was the hero of 'Bidaai' in 74 and Sanjeev Kumar her pair in the film 'Apne Rang Hazaar' which was directed by Ravi Tandon in 1975,
Shatrughan Sinha acted opposite Leena in the 1977 film 'Yaaron Ka Yaar' and Sunil Dutt was her pair in the movie 'Aakhri Goli' of the same year.
Leena got married to Siddharth Bandolkar but was widowed at the age of 25.Later in 1980 she married playback singer Kishore Kumar but he died in 1987.She has a son with Kishore Kumar  named Sumit Ganguly.
Leena appears in some T.V.Shows and also as Judge of T.V.reality shows at present.
