 Superstar Mohanlal has got wonderful dancing skill including classical, and effortless  natural way of acting style with stunning dialogue presentation style.His immaculate talents to present comedy and  also to portray  serious characters is extraordinary.In action scenes also he is marvelous and above all his mesmerizing smile and actions are loved by millions of his fans.If we ask any Malayali that who is their best loved actor, the majority of them irrespective of new generation or old generation would be saying the name of 'Mohan Lal'.

 Mohan Lal does not need an introduction because this charismatic actor with amazing versatile acting talents is popular all over India and has fans abroad also.For more than three decades he has manifested numerous 
characters mainly in Malayalam and in some other languages including Hindi.

 Mohan Lal was born to parents Viswanathan Nair and Santhakumari Amma on May 21, 1960 in Pathanamthitta.He studied at Govt.Model School in Trivandrum and M.G.College in Trivandrum.While he was a college student, in 1978 he acted as the main character of a film 'Thiranottam' which was not released at that period.
in 1980 he acted as the  Villain of the film 'Manjil Virinja Pookkal' which was produced by Navodaya Appachan and directed by Fazil.Shankar,Poornima Jayaram etc acted in it.Mohan Lal was got noticed in that film but he was given negative roles further for the next couple of  years.He proved himself that he could handle any type of roles and he was given hero roles which he made remarkable by his spontaneous acting ability and rose to super star position very easily.Malayalam Cinema has not witnessed another actor with similar capabilities in all aspects and he excelled others in fight scenes,romantic scenes,comedy scenes,dancing skill and also in serious and emotive scenes.Mohan Lal as an actor has full dedication to the roles and characters and he gives maximum output with precious perfection.

Mohan Lal received  National Award for Best Actor in 1991 and 1999 for films 'Bharatham'  and 'Vanaprastham'.
He received National Award as the producer of 'Vanaprastham' also.
He received National Special Jury Award in 1989.
He received Kerala Government Best Actor Award in the years '86,91,95,99,2005 and 2007'.
He received Best Actor Award from Filmfare(south) in the years '86,88,93,94,95,96,99,2005 and 2007'.
He has got 'Padma Shri' Award from Government of India also.

In 2009 he became the first actor to be given the honorary rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the Territorial Army of India.

He received Honorary Doctorate from Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit,Kerala in 2010.
Mohan Lal sang more than 25 songs in films and some of them are indeed marvelous.
Mohan Lal is indulged in business activities also and is a film producer and distributor.He has some other business activities in diversified fields.

In 1986 'Rajavinte Makan' was an action thriller film directed by Thampi Kannamthanam and the role as 'Don Vincent Gomas' boosted Mohan Lal's acting career as a versatile actor.
In the same year he got Kerala State Best actor award for 'T.P.Balagopalan.M.A. which was directed by Sathyan Anthikkad.'Nadodi Kattu' was another film Sathyan Anthikkad directed with a comedy theme.The characters 'Vijayan and Dasan' played by Mohan Lal and Sreenivasan were utilized by Priyadarshan later for his film.
Mohan Lal acted in several comedy theme films of Priyadarshan in that period.

'Thoovana Thumbikal' directed by P.Padmarajan in which Sumalatha was the heroine received audience and critical acclaim.
In 'Padamudra'  and 'Rajashilpi' directed by R.Sukumaran, Mohan Lal depicted characters  which differed from usual roles.
'Chitram' directed by Priyadarshan turned to be a blockbuster success and was remade in many other languages including Hindi.But the Malayalam 'Chitram' excelled all others because of the presence of Mohan Lal with his cute and natural acting style.
'Kireedam'(89) directed by Sibi Malayil was a landmark film in his acting career and 'Sethumadhavan' became an unforgettable character of Malayalam film history.
Mohan Lal suffered much pain and patience for the film 'Uncle Bun' in which he was depicted as  a fatty man.
In 'Vietnam Colony' directed by Siddique and Lal, his character 'Swamy' and Kanaka's 'Unnimol' was very much liked by the audience.
He received accolades for the character 'Thaiparambil Asokan' in the film 'Yodha'.
Mangalasseri Neelakantan in 'Devasuram(93) is an exceptionally nice character in his career.It was directed by I.V.Sasi.
Mohan Lal and Shobana were endeared by all audience in the film 'Thenmavin Kombathu' which was directed by 'Priyadarshan'.
'Araam Thamburan' was another blockbuster successful film in which his character was stupendous.
'Induchoodan' of film 'Narasimham' has also created history which was directed by Shaji Kailas.
Precious acting moments were seen in the film 'Thanmatra' directed by 'Blessy' and also in Blessy's another  film 'Bhramaram'.
Superb acting talent received accolades for his film 'Drishyam' in which he acted opposite 'Meena'.
