Simi Garewal, is  active as an actress  from  the  late 60's and she  possess diversified talents  as a writer,T.V.Host,TV documentaries director etc.
She was born on 17 Oct. 1947 at Delhi.Her father was a Brigadier in the Army and she grew up in England.She studied at a school in London with her sister Amrita.
After returning to India as a teenager,  she started to act in films.At the age of 15, she could act in an English film 'Tarzan Goes to India'.
She received Filmfare Supporting actress Award for her performance in the film 'Do Baadan' of 1966.Manoj Kumar and Asha Parekh acted as the main pair of this film which was directed by Raj Khosle.Her role as Dr.Anjali received much appreciation from critics.
In the year 1968 also she was selected by Filmfare as Best supporting actress for her role as 'Rajni' in the film 'Saathi'.
In the film 'Mera Naam Joker' which was directed by Raj Kapoor she made a nice appearance as teacher Mary.
Satyajit Ray noted her acting talents and gave her a role in his film 'Aranyer Din Ratri(Days and Nights in the Forest).

Mrinal Sen made her heroine in his Bengali film 'Padatik'.
She starred with Shashi Kapoor in an English language film of Columbia pictures 'Siddhartha' in lead female role.
She appeared in popular films 'Kabhie Kabhie' and Chalte Chalte' in 1976.
Her performance in the film 'Karz'(80) was also well noted.
In 1983 she produced,directed and hosted a TV series for Doordarshan in the name 'It is a Woman's World'.
She made documentaries about Rajiv Gandhi and Raj Kapoor.
Later she received many awards for her TV presentations like 'Screen Award for Best Talk Show and Best Anchor in 1999, and 'Indian Television Academy Award for Best Anchor in 2003'.
