Kamal Haasan is one of the   great actors  India has ever produced and this prodigy  is engaged in other aspects such as,song writer,Playback singer,lyricist,script writer,choreographer,Producer,Director,Makeup Artist,story writer etc.He is well known as 'Sakala Kala Vallabhan'.(Master of All Art Forms)
He was born in Paramakudi in Ramanathapuram of Chennai to Criminal Lawyer D.Sreenivasan and housewife Raja Lakshmi.Charu Haasan, his elder brother was also an actor who earned the 'National Best Actor Award'.Charu Haasan's daughter 'Suhasini' is South Indian actress and also recipient of 'National Best Actress Award'.Mani Ratnam, Suhasini's husband is a great film director.
Kamal Haasan's debut film was as a child artist of   'Kulathur Kannamma' in which Gemini Ganesan was the hero.Kamal Haasan got  National Award as the Best Child Artist for his debut film itself.Afterwards he acted as child artist in several noted films of the south Indian languages including Malayalam.'Kannum Karalum' was the first  Malyalam film he acted  at the age of 7 which was directed by K.S.Sethumadhavan.For giving more training for the talented boy he was helped to join T.K.S. Nataka Sabha, an eminent drama troupe and T.K.Shanmugham was his 'Guru'.At the same time his School education was also continued.His first notable role as an young man was in the Tamil  film 'Arangetram(73) as the brother of heroine 'Prameela'.The K.Balachander film got much acclamation and Kamal Haasan was again given a nice role in 'Aval Oru Thodar Kathai'(74) another film of K.Balachander.
Kamal Haasan's entry as hero in films was through a Malayalam film 'Kanya Kumari' directed by N.Sankaran Nair and Reeta Bhaduri was the heroine.He got film fare Best Actor award for that film.From that film 'Kanya Kumari'  he became very busy in Malayalam films all in lead roles only.In 1974 itself he acted with the famous actress Sheela for the film 'Vishnu Vijayam'.In 1975 out of the 5 films he acted  in Malayalam 'Rasa Leela' in which Jaya Sudha was the heroine was a super hit movie.In 76 Kamal Haasan was hero of  8 films in Malayalam and film 'Ponni' in which Lakshmi was the heroine was an exceptional film.In 1977 he was hero of 9 Malayalam films.Heroines of that time such as Sheela,Sarada,Vidhubala,Sumitra,Rani Chandra,Usha Kumari,Lakshmi,Jayasudha,Zareena Wahab,Sreedevi,Sobha,Jaya Pradha,Jaya Chitra etc all acted as pair in his Malayalam movies.'Madanolsavam' of 1978 was a super duper hit  in which zareena Wahab was the heroine.The songs of that movie composed by Salil Choudhari  are still very popular.  'Yaetta' of the same year directed by I.V. Sasi in which  Seema  was the heroine turned to be a huge success.'Sathyavan Savithri', a film directed by P.G.Viswambharan in which Sridevi was the heroine was also a fantastic movie which contained melodious songs. He lastly appeared as hero of a Malayalam film in the year 1989  for 'Chanakyan'.
In Tamil his mentor was K.Balachander who gave him a major role in 'Apoorva Ragangal' of 74.He acted as hero in the film '16 Vayathinile' of K.Balachander with Rajani Kanth and Sreedevi.In 1977 he was hero in the Kannada film 'Kokila', an award winner film  with actress Sobha.In the same year he acted in a Bengali film 'Kabita'.In 1978 he acted in a Telugu film 'Maro Charitra'.He made debut in Bollywood with the film 'Ek Duje Keliye' which was the remake of Telugu film 'Maro Charitra'.Afterwards he appeared in several Hindi films such as 'Ye To Kamal Ho Gaya,Zara zi Zindagi,Raj Tilak,Saagar,Chachi 420,Geraftar' etc.
He started film production with his 100th film 'Raja Parvai'.His production banner is 'Raj Kamal international'.
He got National Best Actor Award for his film 'Moondram Pirai' directed by Balu Mahendra and its Hindi version 'Sadma' was also super hit.The dance sequence with Silk Smitha was well appreciated.Another Super hit film 'Nayagan' directed by 'Mani Ratnam' helped him to get the  second National Best actor Award in 1987.
Third National Best Actor award was given to Kamal Haasan for the film 'Indian' in the year 1995.
His experimental film 'Pushpak'  of 1987 which was a silent movie was super hit and Kamal Haasan and heroine Amala had taken pains to make that film a success.In Malayalam,Tamil, Telugu etc that film was named as 'Pushpaka Vimanam'.In 1988 Aporva Sahodhargal, a film in which  he appeared in 3 roles and one of them as a dwarf was a wonder.In 1990 he acted in 4 roles for film 'Machael Madana Kama Rajan'.In 'Thevar Magan' which was produced by Kamal he acted as son of Sivaji Ganesan.Its remake was Hindi film 'Virasat'.He acted as a woman in the film 'Avvai Shanmukhi' and its remake was 'Chachi 420' which was directed by Kamal Haasan itself.'Hey Ram' was a film which was highly appreciated by the audience which dealt with the partition of India  and assassination of Mahatma Gandhi.
In 2008 he appeared in 'Dasavatharam' a spectacular movie opposite Asin Thottungal which is the ever  highest grossing film in Tamil.The story and screenplay for this film was written by Kamal Haasan,
He sung more than 70 songs in Tamil,Malayalam.Hindi,Telugu, and English.
Kamal got National Award as best actor 3 times,National award as best child artist once,and National award for 'Thevar Magan' as best film(he got award as the producer.)He got Best Actor Award from Film Fare 19 times and he requested not to consider his name again for an award.
He got Doctorate from Sathya Bhama Deemed University,Several Best Actor Awards  from Tamil Nadu Government,Chevalier Sivaji Ganesan Award for excellence etc etc.He is still very active in films.

Dilip Kumar has been a versatile actor of Bollywood who with his exceptional qualities of acting skills  was able to earn wide applause from audiences across all over India and abroad and has been active in the film industry for a long span of time.
He was born in Peshawar in 1922 and his original name is Mohammed Yusuf Khan.
In his childhood the family moved to Mumbai and later as a young man he went to Pune and started canteen business.He got chance in a film while running the canteen business and the debut film was 'Jwar Bhatta' in 1944.
He has earned fame as 'Tragedy King' and Satyajit Ray described him as 'ultimate method actor'.
He was lucky enough to appear in a wide variety of roles and present them all with
amazing perfection.His roles in dramatic Devdas,historical Mughal-E-Azam, social feature film 'Ganga Jamuna' etc were all equally good.His films Aan,Azad,Kohinoor,Jugnu,Mela,Andaz,Deedar,Daag,Yahudi etc were all higly appreciated movies.He acted  with his brother and actor Nasir Khan in film 'Ganga Jamuna' which was produced by Dilip Kumar himself.His dual role in film 'Ram Aur Shyam' of 1967 was higly acclaimed.From 1976 to 1981 he took a long leave from the film field.In 1981 he returned with a character role in Kranti which was a super hit followed by hits like Shakti,Vidhata,Mashaal,Karma etc.He played fantastically well in 1991 film 'Saudaagar'.He lastly appeared on film screen in the movie 'Quila' in 1994.He served as member of Indian Parliament.
In 1991 he was given 'Padma Bhushan' by Government of India.
He received 'Dada Saheb Phalke award' in 1994.
He received Padma Vibhushan Award from Government of India in 2015.
